Swank Motion Picture Distribution company rents movies (in reels-of-film format) to organizations including college campuses. SWIL used them regularly as a source of the films it brought to campus for SWIL movie before video projectors, and continued to use them for Schlock films until 2005.

Swank apparently informed the MPAA about public showings of DVDs in Fall 2005, leading to a change in SWIL policy in January 2006. Two changes in policies, actually. One was to no longer rent from Swank.
