Ironic Presidency

The Ironic Presidency was the ticket elected as SWIL Presidents for the 2005 calendar year. Its three members were Andrew Brown '07 (Iron Man), Mai Pucik '06 (Iron Fist), and Jillian Waldman '06 (Iron Curtain).
Election
The election of 2004 was reasonably uninteresting, as elections go. Nobody seriously ran against Iron Curtain, Iron Fist, and Iron Man, and they were elected without major incident. Mark Handler '05 made paper ballots (http://www.swil.org/archives/Misc_Works/SWILBallot04.pdf) (PDF) for the election. BDan Fairchild '03 filled out more than his fair share of the ballots, but the results were doctored to provide a suitable result for the second round, for which there was another ballot (http://www.swil.org/archives/Misc_Works/SWILFinalBallot04.pdf) (PDF).
Coups
The Presidents' names -- and minor controversies about miscommunications between the Presidents and the rabble -- led to a proposal for an eventual coup by the "Transparent Presidency" in the name of honesty and transparency. Their names, of course, would ironically end up being terms generally seen (by Swatties, anyway) as terms of oppression: Glass Ceiling, Invisible Hand, and Invisible Man (the Ralph Ellison version).
Happenings
- Second attempt to revive the Science Fiction Discussion Table, this time with Arthur Chu as SFDT Autocrat, proposing weekly short stories from the wide selection available on the internet.
- Finlay created the Pterodactyl Hunt Orientation Video in the fall semester of their presidency.
